A Greece native is playing hockey with the Amerks. The team has signed Ryan Grimshaw and now he has a limited time to showcase what he has.

Ryan Grimshaw's second go-round with the Amerks. He wants to make it stick this time. The Greece native signed a professional tryout contract, giving him a maximum of 25 games to prove he belongs with his hometown team.

Grimshaw played his first game back with Rochester this weekend and his performance was good enough to join Rochester on their western road trip, which begins Wednesday night in Texas.

The 23-year-old was playing minor league hockey in the East Coast League for South Carolina. Grimshaw played six games with the Amerks two years ago, but he wants more. To make the situation even sweeter, he can now open Christmas presents.

The Amerks play the Texas Stars Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m.
