Two men are in custody, after police say they broke into a Batavia home Tuesday.

It happened around 11:30am, on Park Avenue.

Police tell News10NBC, two men, 18-year-old Nathaniel Davis and 23-year-old Akeem Simmons entered the home through a backdoor, after neighbors say they saw them knocking on the front door.

Police were then called and quickly set up a perimeter. At that point police say the suspects ran from the home. Officers chased Davis, and he was taken into custody. A K-9 officer from the Genesee County Sheriff’s office, along with the NYS Helicopter was called to help secure the perimeter.

According to officials, the second suspect, Simmons was eventually located on Ellicott Street, and into custody.

Police say a gun was found on Davis.

The investigation is on-going.
