More than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease and now specialists say there could be a way to stop the disease before it starts.

Doctors in Nevada are testing a drug that's used to treat Type 2 diabetes. They say it may be able to prevent the development of Alzheimer’s disease.

They will test the new drug on participants and also look into whether genetics can elevate the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
