The mother of Matthew Straton spoke publicly for the first time since her son's body was found in a backyard of a home on Rowley Street in Rochester. The owner of the home, Dr. William Lewek, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.
Kym Straton is relieved to know where Matt is but she still doesn't know what happened to him and how he ended up at the home of Dr. William Lewek. “How he met this man I have no idea. There's just so many questions that we need to find out.”
With her son Jeremy by her side, Kym Straton says her son had never mentioned Dr. William Lewek. She says he wasn't one of his patients and she's never seen the man before in her life.
Her other son, Cory, lives a few houses down from Lewek on Rowley Street. Straton questioned how anyone could do what Lewek is accused of doing. There was even a flyer with matt's picture on it was posted right in front of Lewek's house and according to police, Lewek knew the whole time where Matt was, buried in his back yard for weeks.
Jeremy Straton said, “How could somebody do that to my brother, her son. How could somebody do that?” Kym Straton said, “Especially Matt's had his problems with his addiction. I've never heard of this man before this all happened. we're all baffled that it's come out this way."
They have vowed to be at every single court appearance for William Lewek. The Stratons believe there is much more to the story but police haven’t answered their questions either.
