Starbuck says its smartphone app has theoretical vulnerabilities in the event a customer’s iPhone was stolen or hacked.
The company says this information comes from a research report released this week. Starbucks issued a statement about the report on their website, but did not specify what information associated with the of the app could be vulnerable.
Starbucks says there is no indication that any customer has been impacted by this vulnerability or that any information has been compromised.
Starbucks has now released an updated version of the mobile app, saying this version includes extra layers of protection.
