The case involving a Seneca County father, who admitted to killing his son, was in the national spotlight tonight.

NBC's "Dateline" took a closer look into the Karl Karlsen investigation.

Last November, Karlsen pleaded guilty in the death of his son Levi. He was sentenced to 15 years to life behind bars.

The episode began talking about the fire that killed Karlsen's first wife in California. That investigation was reopened in 2012, after news of Levi’s death surfaced.  The episode also included interviews with Karlsen's brother and his second wife Cindy, who suspected something wasn't right following the death of Levi.

If you missed tonight's episode, you can watch a clip of her interview right here.
