Ontario County Sheriff's deputies charged a Phelps man Friday with two counts of second-degree harassment after deputies say the man told police he was going to shoot them.
Deputies charged Joseph Charles Burchim, 52, after being called to Junius Auto Sales on Route 96 in Phelps for an alleged civil dispute between Burchim and a customer. Deputies said Burchim became confrontational and stated he was going to shoot the police that were there.
Burchim was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Phelps Town Court to answer the charges at a later date.
