Vermont State Police say a Canandaigua man died after he hit a tree when he swerved to avoid hitting another snow boarder at a ski resort.
Troopers say 23-year-old Skylar Ormond was snowboarding with two friends at Killington Ski Resort in Vermont on Friday. They say while the Ormond and his friends were in the area of Mouse Trap Trail, Ormond had to swerve to avoid hitting a friend that fell in front of him.
Ormond went into the woods and tumbled until he hit a tree. The friends called ski patrol and Ormond was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
