Celebrating the life and legacy of Doctor Martin Luther King Junior was part of a celebration held Sunday for local youth.
The Rochester Martin Luther King Commission and the Black Heritage Committee hosted their third annual Martin Luther King Youth Day Celebration at City Hall Sunday afternoon.
The event showcases the positive impact of the best and brightest talents in our community, from artists and poets to musicians.
“We have a lot of kids here performing, showing the diversity and talent in our city, which is what Dr. King wanted us to do and this program represents that. I have a lot of diverse kids from a lot of walks of life all over the city,” said Andrae Dunwoody, dance director.
Youth Day 2014 is part of a number of events held this holiday weekend in honor of Dr. King.
