More than a third of New York teens, eligible to work, aren't able to find a job. But thanks to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and other lawmakers that could soon be changing.
Senator Gillibrand announced Tuesday that $20 million of federal money has been committed to help get youth workers, especially at-risk teens, into new jobs.
The senator says she applied for the funding to help better prepare New York youth for employment later in life, especially those who have dropped out of school or have been in legal trouble.
