A local school goes above and beyond to help people with cancer. School No. 58 in the city took part in the Bald for Bucks campaign Wednesday to help benefit the collaborative cancer research between Wilmot Cancer Center and Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Teens Living with Cancer Program in Rochester.

A handful of teachers got their heads shaved to help raise money and awareness. Some of the students even decided to get in on the fun Wednesday and have their heads shaved too. But teachers say the young students also realize the importance of this fundraiser and have done whatever they can to help.

Kristen Burgmaster, physical education teacher, School No. 58, said, "I have kids that have brought in their piggy banks that they've been saving for four or five years and everyone has just been so generous."

So far, students and staff have raised about $7,169 online. They are still counting more donations.
