A Farmington man is headed to State of the Union Address where President Obama will speak to the nation.

Brian Sandore, who is an employee at Unity Hospital, has been asked to join a disaster medical assistance team. The group comes together during many national events to be on stand by in the event of an emergency.

This is Sandore's first time taking part and he says he's excited about the opportunities.

Dr. Brian Sandore, Unity Director of Respiratory Services, said, "I think it's going to be a great learning experience. It's completely out of the element. I'm used to the in hospital element so it's going to be interesting a great learning experience."

Sandore leaves on Sunday and will be there until Tuesday when President Obama holds his State of the Union Address.
