News10NBC is hearing from Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren about her trip to Washington D.C. to meet with the President.
Mayor Warren delivered a copy of the Rochester Area Community Foundation’s breakdown of poverty in the area. The report lists Rochester as the fifth poorest city in the country with the poorest school district in upstate New York.
Warren spoke about how Rochester’s future could be changed with programs that would help our economy grow.
Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren said, “If we are able to receive that it is really going to catapult us into the future. Rochester has been known for our innovative and expertise around manufacturing and being able to receive that program is really going to position us well to compete on a global market.”
This isn’t Mayor Warren’s first meeting with the President. Last month, she was among a group of newly-elected mayors to meet with the President for a roundtable meeting on job creation.
