College at Brockport names new Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

The College at Brockport has a new Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Dr. Mary Ellen Zuckerman was named the college’s new Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. She will begin her new job on July 1.

Dr. Zuckerman is the Dean of Business at Ithaca College, where she also serves as a professor of Business. She was the Dean of Business at SUNY Geneseo from 1999 to 2008.

She also held the prestigious title of Distinguished Service Professor.  Prior to her professorship, she was Associate and Assistant Professor at Geneseo, specializing in marketing and organizational behavior.

The new Provost will succeed Dr. Anne Huot, who left Brockport to become President at Keene State College in New Hampshire. During the current academic year, Dr. Douglas Scheidt has stepped in ably to serve as Interim Provost.

Dr. Zuckerman has authored or co-authored three books and has published more than 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals.  She has also presented papers or appeared at more than two dozen conferences.

Dr. Zuckerman earned her MBA and PhD from Columbia University, the latter degree in History. Her undergraduate degree is in History from Simmons College, located in Boston.
