With more blowing snow in the forecast, you may be thinking "I wish I signed up for a plow service." But, before you pick up the phone, the Better Business Bureau says it is receiving many complaints for snow removal services. Problems like no shows and having trouble contacting the service providers.
The bureau wants you to keep these tips in mind as you call. First, look for experience and review your contract. Your service should provide you a written one. Also, split your payments up. If you're asked for cash up front, the bureau says consider it a red flag. Also, get contact information and make sure you know how to contact the company if there is a snow emergency.
