Rochester Police say a man died following a double stabbing on the city's north side early Saturday morning.
Investigators say at around 3:50 a.m. they responded to Sobieski Street for a report of a man stabbed. At that residence they found a 19-year-old man who had been stabbed in his chest. Shortly after that call, police received another call for a 32-year-old man stabbed multiple times on North Street.
Police say both victims were at a party on North Street when an argument broke out. The argument escalated into a fight, and during that fight, a suspect stabbed both men.
The 32-year-old man, Lee Probst, was taken to Rochester General Hospital where he later died. The 19-year-old victim, Hermes Almodovar, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he underwent surgery. He is currently in guarded condition. Officials say he is expected to survive.
Police say the suspect left the party following the second stabbing and he is not in custody at this time. The police department is asking that anyone with information to please call 911 to report whatever they may know about this matter.
