Have you ever heard of a Human Library? There was one going on in Rochester Saturday.
The idea is to connect community members, or readers, with other people who volunteer as books to share their life experiences and unique interests.
Readers could "check out" books for 30 minutes and engage in one-on-one or group discussions.
"With the printed word you have just what's in front of you. Here you have the emotional energy. You have the storytelling that goes behind it and really brings a story to life,” said Shauna Marie O’Toole
The Human Library was a collaboration between the University of Rochester and the Rochester Public Library.
