Rochester Police say a 14-year-old boy was shot on the city's west side Sunday morning.
Police say they were called to Essex Street, off Brown Street, just before 11 a.m. for a report of a shooting. When units arrived on scene, they say officers found a 14-year-old boy who had been shot in the mid-body.
He was taken by Rural/Metro ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say the victim said he was walking on Brown Street near Rite-Aid when he heard a gun shot and was hit. He then ran to Essex Street afterwards.
