The parents of a 16-year-old Fredonia-area athlete who died after a football game say they might sue the district their son played for.
According to The Buffalo News, the parents of Damon Janes say their son was forced back on the field with a sub-standard helmet even though he was visibly hurt. Damon Janes suffered a serious head-to-head collision and died three days later in a Buffalo hospital.
The claim filed by his parents says the Westfield School District failed to monitor Damon between games.
The Buffalo News says the Westfield superintendent wouldn't comment on the claim.
