It's a reminder that it's never too soon to start thinking about the future. Students at Mercy Middle School took part in a "Women in the Workplace" event Tuesday.
The event featured professionals from a range of jobs including medicine, public relations and law enforcement.
Students and school officials say it's a great opportunity for students, no matter what their age.
Nancy Wunder, Mercy Middle School Director, said, "I think it's really important now to start thinking about their strengths, recognizing their weaknesses and looking at the opportunities they have in front of them."
Laura Seeger, Mercy student, said, "It's also really good to know that you don't have to know what you want to do right away and you have time to think about it and have time to change the path you want to take."
Thirty women were on hand for the career conference including Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley and Christine Sibilio, an Account Executive at News10NBC.
