Greece Police have released their crime report for 2013.
Police say the report shows a 10 percent reduction of all crime compared with 2012 and a 15 percent reduction compared with 2011.
The report also says there were 2,454 Part I crimes in 2013 compared to 2,684 in 2012. Part one offenses include criminal homicide, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft and arson. There were 2,718 other crimes in 2013.
Greece Police Chief Todd Baxter says violent crime was up by 22 percent from 2012. The chief attributes that to the charging of robbery during shop lifting cases where suspects forcibly struggled with security guards.
