A Port Gibson man was charged Friday by Ontario County sheriff's deputies with common law driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood-alcohol content over .08 percent, third-degree criminal mischief and three counts of third-degree assault.
Deputies said they responded to a home at 3637 state Route 245 in Gorham for reported physical trouble. As they arrived, deputies allege Mark T. Gage, 29, of 2949 Greig St., fled the scene and was stopped nearby on Route 245.
Deputies said that further investigation revealed that Gage allegedly assaulted three people at the residence and recklessly caused multiple items to break during a physical altercation. The value of the items that were broken was $320, deputies said.
Gage was arraigned in Hopewell Town Court and sent to the Ontario County Jail on $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Gorham Town Court.
