Gates Police have arrested two men in connection with a bank robbery late Friday afternoon.

Police say 40-year-old Jeffrey Schmitt of Greece and 41-year-old Christopher Mancuso of Gates passed a note to a teller demanding money inside the First Niagara on Spencerport Road just before 5 p.m.

Officers say they tracked down the suspects' car about two and a half hours later on Elmgrove Road.

Both men are charged with robbery and grand larceny and are being held in the Monroe County Jail on $25,000 bail.

Gates Police say the investigation is continuing and further charges related to this incident are pending.
