Rochester teen charged in first murder of 2014 indicted by grand jury

The teen accused of committing Rochester's first murder of 2014 has been indicted by a grand jury.

Anthony Ortiz has been indicted by a grand jury on second-degree murder, second-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon. 

Police say the 17-year-old is accused of opening fire on two men during a New Year's party at recording studio on Lois Street. One victim, 23-year-old Terrance Beatty, of Rochester, was killed. The other victim, 27-year-old Brandon Pearce survived.

Investigators say Ortiz had been released from prison nine days earlier after serving time for attempted criminal possession of a weapon.
