News10NBC has been checking in with the Department of Transportation and travel officials about what they’ve been doing to make your drive home Wednesday as smooth and safe as possible.
It has been as busy as it gets for city and county plow drivers. Plow drivers have been out since 5:00 a.m. running their two hour loops.
If you are frustrated with how your road is plowed, remember, there is 1,500 miles of county roads in Monroe County. There’s 500 miles of streets in Rochester. It’s hard to keep up when we get an inch an hour.
Karen St. Aubin, Rochester Director of Operations and Parks, said, “Things are going well. We've been out on the streets since the snow started falling. It started falling about 5 o'clock this morning. We've been on the streets, we're on the arterial roads, we are on our residential roads and we're going to make a pass through our residential now, we're finishing up and we'll be back out tonight after the cars move over from parking.”
