The cold weather didn’t stop about 30 people from bundling up against the cold around 7:00 a.m. Friday and watching a bulldozer try to break ground for a new Habitat for Humanity House on Jay Street.
There were even some students from Pittsford Mendon High School there and they’re helping to build the house.
They are all patients at Get It Straight Orthodontics” and the sponsorship money is coming from lost retainers.
Dr. Janis Preston, Get It Straight Orthodontics, said, "We do our best as a practice to have our patients have the best smiles so they can put their best foot forward and they want to give back to the community so it just seemed natural to jump on with them to help them do this project with them.”
All money coming in for replacement retainers for the next four months will go to the Habitat House.
