Firefighter Winter Games held in Cortland

More than 300 firefighters from around New York state are competing in tube races, sled pulls and hose relays.

The Firefighter Winter Games being held tis weekend in Cortland in central New York will feature competitors from 32 departments. Firefighters compete in full gear in events that stress teamwork and training skills.

Communities that will be represented include: Baldwinsville, Branchport/Keuka Park, Brookhaven, Chenango Bridge, Cincinnatus, Clay, Cortlandville, Coventry, Enfield, Fairville, Glenwood, Groton, Killawog, Lakeside, Macedon Center, Manlius, Marathon, Mattydale, McLean, Medford, Ontario, Ossining, Owego, Oxford, Sanitaria Springs, South Salem, Tully, Verplanck, Virgil and Walton.
