Most of us probably hate the idea of just being outside this time of year.

But for about 2,000 people it was all about braving the cold in a big way Sunday.

People from across the area took the Polar Plunge into Lake Ontario Sunday morning.

They were all freezing for a reason. All of the money raised goes to help the Special Olympics.
So how was it out there?

"Cold, very cold! We'll do it again. (It was) awesome and all for a good cause,” said Sarah Calkins and Brook Coffey, who both participated in the plunge.

Organizers say it was a record-breaking year, with about $250,000 raised.
