The Rochester Police Department will have a few new men and women on the street helping fight crime.

The RPD's latest recruit class was sworn in Monday morning. Officials say this is one of the most diverse classes in recent memory. More than 60 percent of the recruits are minorities.

Many of the recruits including 28-year-old Justin Linton, who was previously worked as a Monroe County Jail Deputy, says they're ready to get to work.

Linton said, "I hope to use the skills that they've equipped me with and do the best that i can possibly do."

In total, 25 recruits were sworn in Monday.
