Rochester Firefighters are investigating what caused a house fire on the city’s northeast side Tuesday night.

Crews were called to the home on North Street, near Wadsworth Street, around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials say the family inside noticed fire up in the ceiling and called for help.

News10NBC is told two adults, children and a family dog escaped. Officials say the Red Cross will be helping them Tuesday night.

The Rochester Fire Department says the cause appears to be accidental, but is still under investigation.
