Eating healthy and working out can be a challenge for residents in low income neighborhoods. That's why Excellus BlueCross BlueShield has teamed up with St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center in Rochester to help bring healthy habits into those areas.
The company has donated $90,000 over the past four years to the program which helps low income residents take steps to live a healthier life through behavioral and clinical interventions.
So far, about 100 people have completed the seven-week program with many keeping that weight off.
