Good news for dozens of families who use the Head Start Program at Action for a Better Community.
Congresswoman Louise Slaughter says the funding bill passed in January restored cuts to the program and will allow the Clifford Avenue Center to stay open.
She adds this will allow 200 families to keep their children in the program.
During the sequester last year, the program faced a $700,000 cut and announced the center would have to close this summer.
Congresswoman Slaughter says she's glad children in our area will continue to have access to early education services.
