The corporation which runs the Civic Center Parking Garage downtown says a decision has been made to begin transitioning the homeless who stay there into shelters.

The Monroe County Civic Center LDC says a private security company will begin talking to them about shelters and give them other information to help them.
The corporation says the decision came after months of talking with the city, county, police and social service providers.

It believes shelters can provide a safer, more comfortable setting for those who stay in the garage now.
