A local company was honored for its commitment to our country’s veterans.

The owners of Tony’s Tree and Landscaping in Pittsford were awarded for not only serving the U.S. in the military, but for committing to hiring veterans.

Tony Bartucca and Andrew Bartucca Jr. and Andrew Bartucca Sr. are the fourth generation of family to serve our country and most the company’s employees are veterans. An army general was at the business to honor the Bartucca family.

Tony Bartucca, Tony’s Tree and Landscaping, said, “We believe in veterans because we know being veterans ourselves. We know the work ethic that the United States Armed Forces teaches its soldiers, the honor and the integrity.”

A certificate was also given to Robert Lootens, the father of Army Sergeant Jonathan Lootens, who was killed in combat back in 2006. Sgt. Lootens worked at Tony’s and left to join the Army after 9/11.
