A lot of people figured this Sunday was a good day to take a walk and raise money for a good cause.
It was the Winter Walk for Strong Kids at St. John Fisher College. Walkers of all ages had to raise at least $10 in pledges.
St. John Fisher and Nazareth College are both involved in this event.
Even though the two schools might sometimes be rivals on the field, students say it's important to team up when it comes to helping the community.
It's not just, hey this is St. John Fisher, this is Naz, it's a huge rivalry yes, but what it comes down to is the community. That's what really matters. We're a mile apart. We share the same community. We share the same neighbors, and that's what it's really for is to benefit all the people,” said Taylor Muztafago, St. John Fisher student.
In addition to the walk around campus, kids could enjoy carnival games and a bounce house.
The money raised goes to Golisano Children’s Hospital.
