He’s known across the country for his work with the civil rights movement. On Monday, Dr. Bernard LaFayette Jr. made a stop in Rochester.

He spoke at the Central Library of Rochester, part of the Lessons Learned from the Civil Rights Legacy Series. Dr. LaFayette talked about many of the challenges he's faced as an activist and a freedom rider in the 1960's. He says many people can use some of those same principles including non-violence and working together to help move the country forward.

Dr. Bernard LaFayette Jr. said, “Let's make every day, it should be used business in the board room meetings in the Congress.”

Dr. LaFayette is also speaking Monday at the Asbury First Methodist Church at 7:00 p.m.
