Some employees from a local restaurant are getting a hands-on experience with the type of food they serve customers every day. Twenty five employees from Mario’s Italian Restaurant are on their way to Rome.
The trip gives employees a chance to taste, smell and sees the foods that are the foundation of the restaurant. Owner Anthony Daniele says it really makes a difference.
Daniele said, “Obviously, when our customers come in and they're sitting at the table and the server tells them they just got back from Italy and this is a dish they learned how to make and they taste it, it changes the whole experience. I mean it really turns out to be a priceless asset for our restaurants.”
This is the third time in 15 years the Daniele’s have done a trip like this. Employees are chosen to go based on how long they've worked at the restaurant, their desire to learn more about the food and recommendations from supervisors.
