Only about half of Americans, 51-percent, have more emergency savings than credit card debt. That's according to Bankrate.com which reports that's the lowest percentage since 2011.
Nearly 30-percent have more credit card debt than emergency savings and those in what should be their prime earning years -- ages 30 to 64 -- are the most likely to fall into that category.
Bankrate.com points to stagnant incomes, long-term unemployment and high household expenses.
