The man shot by a Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy in Pittsford last month was released from Strong Memorial Hospital and is in the Monroe County Jail.

Vincenzo Zagari, 22, of Ogden, was in guarded condition at Strong Hospital.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the deputy fired at Zagari when he attacked her with a hammer and then pulled out a gun. Zagari was being chased after sheriff’s deputies say he was seen shoplifting at the Pittsford Wegmans and driving away in a stolen car.
