Officers say two people were charged following a head-on snowmobile crash in Seneca Falls.

The Seneca Falls Police Department says the crash happened last Sunday, February 16, just before 1 a.m.

News10NBC is told 22-year-old Andrea Osterhout and 22-year-old Zachary Herman were riding snowmobiles in a field off Kingdom Road when they collided head-on. Osterhout was injured as a result of the crash.

She was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital and was treated and released. Police say speed and inexperience played a role in the crash. Osterhout was charged with imprudent speed and operation, operating without a license and unregistered snowmobile. Herman was also charged with imprudent speed and operation.
