According to the family’s pastor, the mothers of two of the people murdered inside a Chili Avenue apartment are being protected in a secret location.
The pastor says he’s concerned about the safety of the women after their daughters, Jacquelyn Simmons and Jeremeliah Simmons were found dead inside their apartment. Jacquelyn and Jeremeliah are cousins. A third victim, Michael Nelson, was also found shot to death.
Detectives went back into the house and apartment Tuesday. When we saw them, they were in there for about 20 minutes. Family says the detectives told them they believe the people were killed early Saturday morning. Police are not confirming that.
The pastor of the Simmons’ cousins says their mothers are in a secret location. He’s concerned about their safety.
Bishop Willie Davis said, “To be honest, it’s difficult for me to even speculate how they were killed because these are girls that come from a very strong family background.”
Michael Nelson’s sister said, “I don’t know. I have no clue. I don't know. We need answers. I don't know who would do this to my brother.”
Bishop Willie Davis, the pastor of the two women, says Jacquelyn and Jeremeliah Simmons both have young children, around the ages of two and four years old. News10NBC is trying to find out where they were at the time of the murders.
The family of Michael Nelson says Nelson’s father was murdered 18 years ago.
