News10NBC is learning new information about the new transit center downtown. Officials say the center will open five months early.

Passengers will be welcomed starting November 28, which is Black Friday.

The new RTS station is located on Mortimer Street near St. Paul. It spans an entire city block and can accommodate 100 buses per hour. It will include an indoor space and will be heated in the winter.

The project cost around $50 million and was able to stay on budget. It also helped to create 400 construction jobs and 50 permanent positions.
