There's some good news for struggling families. The state is promising to help make up the difference when it comes to cuts in the food stamp program.

Lawmakers agreed to cut funding to the program as part of the Farm Bill, which on average means around $127 cut for families.

The move will cost the state around $457 million. Governor Cuomo says this will help more than 300,000 households.
