State Police in Warsaw say a woman is dead after a two-car crash in the town of Attica Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. on State Route 98, just south of the intersection with Lindsey Road.

Troopers say 54-year-old Terry O’Neil, of Varysburg, was rounding a curve on State Route 98 when she collided with another car. They say the driver of the other car, 88-year-old Richard Rudolph, of Akron, was unable to swerve out of the way in time and struck O’Neil’s car on the passenger side. News10NBC is told both cars continued off the highway and came to a rest in a field off the shoulder of the road.

Police say O’Neil was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital, where she later died.

Rudolph was taken to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight. News10NBC is told his injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

Troopers say the road was partially covered by wind-blown snow at the time of the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
