Canandaigua man hospitalized after falling from construction equipment

A Canandaigua man is in the hospital after Sheriff’s Deputies say he fell from a piece of construction equipment Wednesday morning.

News10NBC is told the incident happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. on West Kendall Road in the town of Kendall.

Orleans County Sheriff’s Deputies say 62-year-old Allen Harter had climbed up to the operator’s platform of a hydraulic boom truck, and was preparing to sit down when in the chair when he lost his footing and fell about seven or eight feet onto the ground.

Deputies say Harter was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.

News10NBC is told Harter is employed by J.F. Electric Inc. of Edwardsville, Illinois, which leased the truck from Global Rental Co. in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The incident is currently under investigation.
