February is Black History Month and students at a local elementary school held a celebration. Students at Nazareth Elementary School sang songs and performed skits.

News10NBC talked to students about what they did today and why they feel celebrations like these are important.

Gianna Caraballo said, “It's about sunrise and it's about like yonder.”

Hannah Bardeen said, “It's really nice knowing the whole school is a part of this because we know everybody is unique in their own special way. So it's nice to celebrate everyone's differences.”

Students from Pre-K all the way to 6th grade were a part of today's events.
