Rochester Police officer taken to hospital following two-vehicle crash

News10NBC is on the scene of a crash involving a Rochester Police officer.  The crash happened on Mt. Read Boulevard and Ridgeway Avenue around 7:30 a.m.

Police tell us the officer was south on the ramp to Ridgeway Avenue when a northbound vehicle skidded on the ice and hit the cruiser head-on.

We are told two people were taken to hospital included an officer who suffered a knee injury.

No word on charges at this time.
