The Rochester Police Department says a confrontation between two men led to a stabbing overnight on the city's north side.

According to police, a 27-year-old man was standing on Woodward Street near North Street just after 11:30 p.m. Friday night. At some point, officers say the suspect--a five-foot-nine-inch male wearing a black jacket, brown boots and blue jeans--approached that man.

Investigators say a confrontation began and the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the upper body. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by private vehicle with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is underway and police say no suspects are in custody at this time.
