Do The Right Thing winners: Imani Hughes and Deonna Baker

They stepped up to help another student being bullied and that’s why they are News10NBC’s “Do The Right Thing” award winners.

Imani Hughes and Deonna Baker are being recognized for helping others. The fifth graders noticed a younger student being bulled and decided to jump in and help. 

Imani Hughes and Deonna Baker, said, “If we were to be bullied, we wouldn't want to feel like run down like you just got beaten. So we decided to help the little girl out and give her tips on what to do when they start bullying her. We gathered all our friends and we started talking to them and talk to people that were being bullied and the bullies.”

The girls started a support group for other students as well. Hughes and Baker attend School No. 25.
