A rally Tuesday for the Greece Olympia sign language teacher who resigned after a photo appeared to show her using vulgar language on a smart board.

Supporters of Sharon Duffy came out to show their support at Tuesday's Greece School Board meeting.

Duffy resigned last week after that photo went viral on social media showing a vulgar word written on the board. District officials did confirm that Duffy is the teacher in the photo.

Supporters talked about her influence and the impact of all this.

Danielle Palmgreen, parent, said, “To see her going through this, it's terrible. The whole community is torn apart about it.”

Rebecca Raisman, former student, said, “She was just a really big inspiration, very dedicated. She wanted to teach. She loved teaching. She's one of those teachers who actually loved to teach.”

News10NBC did go by Duffy’s home last week to see if she wanted to talk about her decision to resign, but no one answered the door.
